Weingarten Rights
Weingarten rights are a U.S. union protection. If you are a union member and the boss calls you into a meeting that could lead to discipline, you can have a union representative with you. You usually have to ask. The point is that you are not alone while they gather facts that could cost you the job. Canada does not use the Weingarten name, but many collective agreements give members a similar right to a steward in that kind of meeting.
