An approach to management pioneered by Fredrick Taylor that analyzes workflows in order to improve efficiency. A scientific manager would be interested in how much time it takes for a worker to accomplish some specific task, or points where miscommunication take place to identify areas of improvement in the workflows of the company as a whole.
