Right to Refuse Unsafe Work
The right to refuse unsafe work means you can say no to a task you reasonably believe could seriously hurt you, and the employer cannot punish you for that refusal. In the United States, OSHA covers this when the danger is imminent and serious. In Canada it is a core workplace right. You still tell your supervisor what the hazard is so it can be investigated. A new worker who will not climb a damaged ladder is using this right.
