Purchase Power Parity (PPP)

Purchase Power Parity (PPP)

A type of economic measurement that tries to compare the GDP (or some other indicator) of two different countries not just by the currency exchange rate, but by how much the same types of goods cost in both countries. A simple example of this would be comparing the price of a Big Mac at McDonald’s in both countries and using that price difference compared to total GDP.
