Pay Equity
Pay equity is the rule that jobs of similar value should pay similarly, even when the titles and day-to-day work look different. Value is judged by skill, effort, and responsibility, not by whether the jobs match. A hospital nurse and an electrician can both require training, physical effort, and high responsibility. If those jobs are worth about the same to the employer, gender should not be why one pays less. The point is to stop whole kinds of work from being priced lower because they have historically been done by women.
