Mass Production

Mass production uses technology, assembly lines, and machinery to make large volumes of standardized goods. Per-unit cost usually falls as volume rises, while flexibility shrinks. It is the production model that supports a cost-leadership strategy. It is the opposite of artisan production, which uses skilled labour and small batches.
