A term in health insurance to refer to health care providers (doctors, clinics, hospitals, or pharmacies) that the insurance provider has already established contracts for pricing and payment terms. A provider who is “in network” is greatly preferred by health insurance providers, and the insurance provider usually provides much better benefits (and easier access) to these providers.
