The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) is the federal agency that protects you when you deal with a bank or other federally regulated financial firm. It enforces consumer-protection rules, including that fees must be disclosed clearly and that you must be treated fairly. If a bank hides charges or handles your account poorly, FCAC is the agency whose rules apply.
