1040
Form 1040 is the United States form for filing your federal income tax return. It adds up income for the year, including W-2 and 1099 amounts, subtracts deductions, and compares that with tax already withheld. You then owe more tax or get a refund. Extra schedules are added when income or expenses are more complicated. A correction to a return already filed uses Form 1040-X.
