Self-Efficacy
Self-efficacy is the belief that you can get better at a specific skill through practice, even after you mess up. It is tied to a task, not to your worth as a person. You might feel sure you can learn a cash register and unsure you can speak in a meeting. That split is normal. People with stronger self-efficacy keep trying after a setback, which is why it shapes career choices: you apply, you ask, you train. If you doubt that effort will matter, you often do not start.
