Push and Pull Systems
Push and pull systems are two ways a supply chain decides when to make or move a product. A push system builds stock ahead of time using a forecast, then hopes customers buy it. A sneaker brand that ships a new colorway to stores before anyone has bought it is pushing. A pull system waits until a customer orders. A company that builds a laptop only after you configure and pay for it is pulling.
