Internal Responsibility System

Internal Responsibility System

The internal responsibility system is the idea that everyone at a workplace shares responsibility for safety—workers, supervisors, and employers. Canada uses this model. You do not wait for a government inspector to notice a hazard. You report problems and near-misses, and the employer is expected to fix them.
