Collective Bargaining
Collective Bargaining is the process in which a union negotiates pay, benefits, schedules, and other job terms with an employer for a group of workers, instead of each person bargaining alone. If talks succeed, the result is a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), a binding contract that covers the group. If the CBA conflicts with an individual offer letter, the CBA usually wins. Members can file a grievance if management breaks it.
