Artisan production is a way of making goods that relies on skilled labour, small batches, and close attention to detail. A custom furniture shop that builds one table to a client’s measurements is an example. It is the opposite of mass production, which uses assembly lines to make large volumes of standardized products at a lower cost per unit.
