Consumer Finance Protection Bureau

Consumer Finance Protection Bureau

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is a U.S. government agency that oversees consumer financial products and services, such as credit cards, loans, mortgages, and bank accounts. It was created after the 2008 financial crisis by the Dodd-Frank Act.

The CFPB takes consumer complaints, supervises companies, and enforces federal consumer financial laws. If you cannot resolve a problem with a financial company, you can file a complaint with the CFPB.
