The Morgan State University (MSU) Stock Market Challenge allows students to invest in financial securities using virtual money and learn about global financial markets, financial assets, and financial literacy. The MSU Investment Club manages the virtual challenge.

Official Rules
- The tournament is free and open to all students currently enrolled at Morgan State University during the 2022/2023 academic year.
- Students will only register once with an active MSU email address. Students are not allowed to use their private email addresses.
- Registration begins on 08/22/2022. The competition will run for 100 days, starting on 09/26/2022 and will end on 02/27/2022.
- Students will start with a virtual $100,000 in cash.
- Students will only trade U.S. stocks, ETFs and Cryptocurrency.
- Students cannot invest more than 20% of their funds in any asset.
- All participants will be required to use the website’s trade journal feature to document their decisions for making their trades.
- Short selling and buying on margin will be prohibited.
- The minimum stock price for buying is $5.00.
- The Capital Markets Lab Director and the audit team will declare the winner 3-5 days after 02/27/2022
- Participants are encouraged to read the following financial literacy articles during the duration of the competition. The top 3 winners must complete at least ten financial literacy articles by 4:00 PM on 02/27/2022. Articles and Videos are on the Learning Tab; click on “View active assignments.”
